Every day in medicine I dealt with the direct or indirect effects of poor weight and nutrition.
The sheer number of people battling with these issues is enormous, and it is only getting worse every year. Death due to cardiovascular problems outrank nearly every other major cause of death combined, including cancer! We dedicate immense resources as nation to cancer research and treatment, but nobody is doing anything to address the even greater cause of death and disease in the US, namely, the American diet. The negative impact to life and health that this has on each patient is enormous and complex and ultimately ends in an early death, and it almost all ties directly back to improper diet. I realized that by treating these issues medically I was effectively trying to tear down a mountain with a spoon. The only way to truly stop the trend of worsening health was to empower individuals to change their life, beginning with their habits.
I began sharing my own experiences regarding nutrition and the keto diet and I found that many people still did not understand what it really was and why it is was important. Even those who did understand felt powerless to actually be able to pull it off and so they usually just gave up and decided to go back to trying the same things that DIDN'T work for them before. I began to feel frustrated that such a powerful weight loss tool was kept out of the hands of the people simply because they lacked the necessary information. So I set about to change that.
I started counseling everyone I could about keto and how it works and how they could do it, but I was met with immense cultural bias against the principles I was teaching, and many people flat out refused to believe what I was teaching them. It seemed that unhealthy habits had been so deeply ingrained in the American people and the American culture that even when the evidence was staring them in the face they simply could not bring themselves to believe it.
On the rare occasions when I could convince someone that what I was teaching them was true, they still refused to accept that they could actually live a keto lifestyle themselves. I tried to explain to them that switching to keto is easy, but without fail I was met with discouragement and defeat. They simply didn't see how and couldn't believe that they could make such drastic change in their habits and lifestyle. The vast majority of people have become so discouraged by repeated failure that many individuals feel it is absolutely impossible to change, so they turn their backs on the one truth that could save them.
I couldn't accept that, I couldn't accept that people are unable to change. I had seen the change take place in several patients, in my friends, in myself, so I knew that it was possible. I just had to find a way to convince everyone else of what I knew. Otherwise, they would never find the tools they needed to change their life and get back in control of their health and their weight.
The problem was, I wasn't just facing a disease, I was facing a system. The entire US culture and economy is built around unhealthy habits. How could we possibly change all that? I asked myself this question every day for years, until one day I realized that Americans all share one common connection, no matter where you live in the country. Our media. Every American watches mostly the same movies, the same TV, reads the same books, and listens to much of the same music. Sure there are little sub-categories and genres of TV, movies, and music, but within each sub-category everyone consumes the same media. So I set out to take advantage of this common thread and reach as many people as possible.
But it is not just our system that is fighting us here, in fact, our worst enemy is our own mind. Our past failures, and negative experiences, they all write a false story about our future, a story that, when we believe it, cripples us and prevents us from ever making any progress in life. We have all tried...and we have all failed, most of us many times. Eventually, we come to believe that we are powerless in our own lives, and that we will never be able to make any real or lasting changes, and so we just give up. We resign ourselves to our fate, and decide to make the best of it, regardless of how bad it might get. We get used to feeling powerless, and we surrender to the inevitable tide of our bodily urges and let it guide us wherever it will.
Once we get to this point, we are vulnerable, and so we swallow the lies our society tells us wholesale and we start to believe that we are weak, that we are unattractive, that we will never amount to anything, that we are not special, and that when the universe rolled the dice on who received an amazing life we somehow missed out. We get used to feelling unattractive, to feeling mediocre, to feeling left out, and we start to believe that this is how our life is supposed to be. But isn't...every person's life has the potential to be amazing, to be what we want it to be. We shape our future with our habits, and we shape our habits with our actions, and we shape our actions by our own conscious INTENTIONAL thoughts. In this way, a single thought literally holds the power to grant us our wishes and dreams. It all starts with a thought. But you cannot have the thought if you do not open your ears to hear what is being said, open your eyes to see what is happening in your life, and open your mind to believe that maybe there is a better way.
These destructive thoughts are the critical enemy to defeat. They are the major obstacle to life changing thoughts that can lead us to make real change. They are a sneaky foe to catch, and it requires a deep look at our own personal narrative, that is, what we are telling ourselves every day. We have to catch ourselves when we start repeating the lies the world tells us, and then reverse those lies by telling ourselves the TRUTH about who we are, and what we can achieve. It is this subtler battle that costs most Americans their goals and dreams. But it is a battle you can win, IF you are given the right tools. This is exactly what I set out to do, to give everyone the tools they need to spot their own lies and turn them into truths.
To accomplish this, I set aside a month to sit down and distill all of the knowledge I had gained over the years regarding health, fitness, and nutrition from my career and my education, and combine it with everything I had learned about psychology, habits, addiction, and thought patterns that I had learned from my years as a volunteer helping people to make massive changes in their personal life. I wanted to fuse these two disciplines together in a way that could help people know what they needed to know, see what they needed to do, feel what they needed to feel, and change what they needed to change.
The path to change is not just through changing our external environment, an even greater ability to change lies in altering our thoughts, our plans, and small daily actions. It does not take some heroic and inhuman effort to change your life. Rather, it starts with changing tiny details of your daily routine through just a few minutes of planning each day. So the trick is not to diet harder, but diet smarter.
Some might say that I am fighting an uphill battle, but I am not doing it alone, just like YOU are not doing this alone. I am going to help you along the path every step of the way in every form that I can. I have designed this material specifically to be used as a self-help field manual to give ANYONE the tools and information they need to make lasting change and do so with a minimum of personal sacrifice. Of you, I ask only two things. The first is to believe. CHOOSE to believe that there is a relatively easy and painless way for you to change your life and achieve your goals. Once you believe that, I ask you to see for yourself. Read the book, buy the ingredients, cook the recipes, and give yourself the chance to see just how easy, how enjoyable, how possible it is.
So what are you waiting for? The formula for change is sitting right in front of you, all you have to do is take it. How much longer do you want to wait before having the life you want? How much longer can you afford to wait until your health becomes a "real" issue? I have removed the obstacles of lack of information and lack of know-how, so the only obstacle left is you! Are you ready to throw off all the lies you have been told and embrace the truth that will allow you to change? Are you ready to get back to living your life? Then click below to start your journey to a better truth!
